We have our dates set for our Summer 2012 Middle School Debate Program.
Harvard-Westlake Summer Middle School Debate Program 2012
Session 1: July 16 – July 20
Session 2: July 23 – July 27
Session 3: July 30 – August 3
Details will be up in January 2012. We anticipate that it will, again, run from 9am-3pm, Monday through Friday.
The program is for rising 5th, 6th, 7th, & 8th graders. We focus on the 3-person parliamentary style of debate done by many of the middle and elementary schools in LA.
Attendees do not have to be Harvard-Westlake students and no debate experience is necessary. We will tier students based on age, experience and debate goals.
Many of the 2011 attendees didn’t plan on ever participating in debate during the school year. That is fine. We can provide a great experience to improve a student’s ability to research, speak, think and make good arguments.
