USC Signup (Due 10/18)

This is the registration for the USC Tournament, which will take place on FRIDAY NOV 4 – SUNDAY NOV 6. Elimination rounds only on Sunday.

DEADLINE FOR SIGNUP: TUESDAY OCT 18, 10:00PM

I’m hoping to take 20 competitors to USC. Last year we had a dominating performance. I hope we can repeat. In varsity, this tournament is now a TOC Qualifier at the Semi-final level.

We will depart after school on FRIDAY via bus. It is likely that 9th graders will take the shuttle to the Upper School and then we will all take the bus over to USC.

It will be done by around 9:30pm on Friday. You will be responsible for being picked up on Friday and providing transportation back and forth on Saturday. The same for Sunday.

Meadows (Observer) Signup (Due 10/16)

Use this form if you’d like to attend the Meadows Tournament as an observer. You would depart on Friday after school and observe rounds on Friday night, Saturday and Sunday.

This will give you a good opportunity to see what a “national circuit” debate tournament is like. If you choose to be committed to debate, this tournament (as opposed to Long Beach) will be much more indicative of the type of atmosphere you could typically expect.

Deadline to signup is SUNDAY OCTOBER 16 at 10:00PM
* the cost of the trip would just be the cost of your ticket and portion of hotel room. You would not be billed for the travel/lodging of coaches or entry fees.

Meadows Signup (Due 10/14)

We can take 6 competitors to the Meadows tournament.
** Some of you may want to come to observe as way to prepare for the new resolution. It is likely that we will have an option to fly-out on FRIDAY after school (returning on Sunday). You should just mark “observer” if you’d like to do this. There is a SEPARATE SIGNUP FORM FOR THIS <--

DEADLINE: FRIDAY OCTOBER 14, 10:00PM

We will leave after school on Thursday OCT 27 and return on Sunday OCT 30. We will fly out of BUR or LAX.

This tournament is a TOC bid at the Quarterfinal level.

Estimated cost: $1180.00
* if you fly out to observe you won't need to contribute to the portion of travel that is coach travel/lodging or entry fees - just your flight, portion of hotel room and rental car.

CSU Fullerton Signup (Due 10/16)

Please fill out this form if you would like to register for the Cal State University Fullerton tournament. The tournament begins on Friday Morning (10/21), ends early Saturday night.

We will depart from the Upper School and Middle School at 3:00pm for the hotel on THURSDAY 10/20.

We will stay in the hotel on Thursday and Friday nights.

The deadline to sign-up is SUNDAY OCT 16 at 10:00PM.

As always, signing up means you are committing to attending the tournament.

Sign-Up: Cal State Long Beach 9/30-10/2

Please fill out this form if you would like to register for the Cal State University Long Beach tournament. The tournament begins VERY early on Saturday morning (10/1), ends VERY late on Saturday night, and begins again early on Sunday morning. Since this is the first tournament for many of our debaters, we are planning on traveling down to Long Beach on Friday night to make sure all of the debaters are prepared.

The deadline to sign-up is TUESDAY SEPT 27 at 10:00PM.

Logistics:
FRIDAY SEPT 30
3:00pm: Departure to Hotel in Long Beach Upper School via School Suburban
5:00pm: Arrive Hotel – Spend evening preparing for Saturday debates.

SATURDAY OCT 1
6:30am: Depart Hotel for CSULB
7:00am-10:00pm: Debate Rounds
10:30pm: Depart CSULB to Hotel

SUNDAY OCT 2
7:30am: Depart Hotel for CSULB
8:00am-1:00pm: Finish preliminary rounds
We will send a Suburban back when we have enough debaters eliminated from competition. If a debater does extremely well, competition could last into the early evening.
